  • Is There a 7/4-Way Trailer Connector Plus Brake Controller For a 2018 Mercedes Sprinter 2500?
  • To get a 7/4 connector on your 2018 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Steve, you are going to have to combine the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK22115 with the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket # HM40975. The connector will connect directly to the Tekonsha wiring. If you are going to need a brake controller check out the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Brake Controller for Tekonsha Harness # RED63RR as it will plug directly into the harness included from Tekonsha.

  • Parts Needed To Add A Brake Controller To A 1996 Ford E-350 TOGA Class B Motorhome
  • Hey Tommie, Brake controllers are a pretty universal fit so we'll still have what you need even though your vehicle isn't in our Fitguide. With a Ford E-350 cab and chassis you should be able to use the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55344 to get a 4-way connector for your lights. This wire harness plugs inline with the factory tail light wiring. From there you'll need to install the # ETBC7 to get a 7-way socket on the back of your motorhome....

  • Recommended Brake Controller for a 2024 Subaru Ascent
  • Hey Sue I went ahead and checked, and it does not look like there is a plug and play wiring adapter for your 2024 Subaru Ascent unfortunately. It looks like in order to use the Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller # TK90160 you're going to have to use the included universal wiring harness. You could also use the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller # C51180 which plugs into your factory 7 way, so it wouldn't require any splicing or cutting into your wiring.

  • What Will I Need To Pull a Aliner Travel Trailer Rental With a 2023 GMC Acadia With Tow Package?
  • You really should use a weight distribution hitch like the Equal-i-zer # EQ37060ET when towing a travel trailer. You should touch base with the person or company you are renting the trailer from as they will typically have these already setup for the trailer and is often included with the rental. If they are not offering it with the rental you should check with other rental companies near you as they are the best especially for new campers. The weight distribution hitch helps to more evenly...

  • Brake Controller For A 2018 Ford Explorer With After Factory 7 Way
  • Hello Marcia, I can definitely point you in the right direction. Did the after factory 7-way kit you installed include the necessary wires for a brake controller? I would like to know exactly what 7-way you had installed since it is not OEM. The aftermarket 7-way kits we sell such at the # ETBC7 kit you mentioned, do include brake control wires. So, as long as this is what you had installed, you can use really any brake controller of your choice since the necessary wires will already be...

  • Wiring Trailer Brakes On a 5TH Wheel Trailer
  • For the wires coming from the brakes they do not matter as they connect to the magnets in the drum brakes which are not polarity specific. So one wire from each brake will connect to the frame/ground wire as a ground and the 2nd wire will connect to the positive wires coming from the 7-way. The brown wires running through the axle are simply put there by the axle manufacturer so you do not have to run wiring down both sides of the frame. As for the 2 white wires on your 5th wheel you...

  • Does the B&W Continuum Work w/ Trailers that Have 4 Inch Tall Frames?
  • Thanks for the pictures! No, I am sorry Richard you can not. The B&W Continuum item # BW78FR only works with frames that are 5" and 6" tall. Instead, I recommend using the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control item # EQ37100ET. The Equal-i-zer item # EQ37100ET has a tongue weight range of 600 lbs - 1,000 lbs so it would be perfect for your car trailer. This system has built in 4-point sway control that will keep your trailer in line with your truck when you make...

  • Security Locks For Dexter A-60 Brake Actuator Coupler # DX56FR
  • We do have locks that will work with your Dexter A-60 Brake Actuator # DX56FR. The Coupler Lock # e98888 will allow you to secure the trailer to your vehicle when towing. This lock pin replaces the included push pin which comes with the actuator. For storage you will want to use the Fastway Universal Trailer Coupler Lock # FA86-0015-316. This can be used with the coupler lock above as well. I have linked videos for each of these locks near the bottom of the page which shows them being...

  • Options For Connecting Safety Cables When Using The Dexter DX29FR Actuator
  • Well Brent that is certainly a valid concern, because the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator # DX29FR does not have any kind of built in safety cable connections. In fact very few of the surge brake actuators that we carry will have cable connections. In most cases the safety cable connection will be part of the trailer tongue itself and not part of the brake actuator (example pictured below). As far as getting you a cable connection point, it could be as simple as putting a hole a bit...

  • Recommended Axle/Hubs to Replace a 4.4K Axle With 5 on 5 Hubs
  • Keith, I'd imagine it's because it's not a super common setup. I'd recommend just swapping the axles/hubs with the Dexter Trailer Axle w/ Electric Brakes # 6340624-EB which is a bit larger of an axle at 5.2K and has included 5 on 4 1/2 hubs which is way more common.

  • Solar Panel System And Inverter Needed For A 2021 Keystone Cougar 5th Wheel With Zamp Solar Inlet
  • Hey Lawrence, That is correct, solar panels systems are simply to recharge the battery and wouldn't directly power anything. They'll run directly to the battery bank. The Zamp inlet you have most likely is just a 2-pole SAE connector with a positive and negative wire ran directly to the battery for you plug in a portable solar panel system. An Inverter takes power from your battery bank and increases it from 12v to 120v so that you can run larger appliances without shore/generator power....

  • Is Equal-i-zer Hitch Ball Rated the Same as Older Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Head
  • Hi Russ, thanks for all of the details and photo! For your application it will be best to get a whole new 14K Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37140ET. When I sent your photo over to my contact at Equal-i-zer he said there are a few things that are concerning like the shank is not one that came with the hitch head and there is some hardware missing like the sleeves where the bars install on the hitch system. Getting a whole new system gives you a whole...
